Monday Mindset 4/3/2023

Shane and I have been talking a lot lately about our decision to move across the country. Did we make the right choice? Did we do the right thing?

We miss friends, we miss family, we miss the home we worked on for 10 years and finally had the way we wanted.

As everything begins to bloom again, we are reminded of the beauty that inspired us to move here.

Shane’s hard work on the farmhouse renovation is making tremendous progress and we can both envision holidays, celebrations and many beautiful memories to come in a home that has truly been built with love.

I am clearing garden beds, starting seeds and getting some plant starts into the soil. Another garden season is beginning. I am also busy working on the skincare line. Perfecting formulas, creating new products, deepening my knowledge of the ingredients I use and want to incorporate. Also, making spreadsheets, learning about marketing and all the essential but not always fun parts of running a successful business.

Change pushes us out of our comfort zones, even positive change. A seed has to set roots and then push it’s way through the dirt and break through so the sun can shine down on the new little plant.

As we build and grow in this new season of our life, I do believe we are setting strong roots. For our marriage, for our family and for us as individuals.

Having a clear vision and a shared dream of building this homestead has provided a deeper connection to each other and the roots of our marriage are stronger than ever.

Change is a gift to help us grow. All we need to do is look to nature, to know it is true.

Mindset Monday

Good morning and Happy Monday!!

You asked for it, and Monday Mindset is back.

This week’s mindset is inspired by one of my bonus kids.
She is a new mom, and those of us that have had babies know the transition of caring for another human, recovering physically and mentally from labor, and the lack of sleep creates a cocktail of self-doubt.
What advice would you give her?
When is a time you needed to change your self-talk?
Is this an area you need help and support in?
Grab a cup of coffee or tea, and let’s talk about it

Feel Good Friday

Feel Good Friday

This morning when I woke up, I started thinking about my week. The ups and down of the area I felt I needed clarity in. Then this thought “progress not perfection” ran through my mind. And I took a moment to be grateful for the steps I made this week and the steps I will continue to make.

It is easy to discouraged when we don’t do things perfectly and a lot of time, we just give up. My 30 day yoga practice, is going to take more than 30 days, and that is okay. As long as I keep showing up on the mat and giving myself grace, I am continuing to grow, to gain mental and physical strength. It might be slower than someone that showed for the 30 days consecutively, and that is okay.

For today’s self care practice, I want you to take a moment to give yourself some grace. If the area in your life you wanted clarity still seems messy, make a plan on what steps will help you feel aligned, whether it is in your body, your home, or a relationship. If you did accomplish your goal this week, give yourself some praise and hold gratitude for all the circumstances that allowed you to accomplish it.

Have a beautiful Friday.

Peaceful Affirmations 12/8/2022

This time of year, we get focused on making magical experiences for those we love. That is beautiful. Remember, you deserve bliss and magic too. Do the things this season that fill your spirit and skip the things that bring stress and low energy. Fall in love with your life, that is a true gift to the ones who love you.

Monday Mindset

Each sucess begins with us believing in ourselves and making the most of each opportunity that comes our way. Use this affirmation for any area of your life you want to work on: career, relationships, health.

Building a homestead from the bottom up it is easy to get overwhelmed but by taking each day and embracing the lessons that life presents in that moment, that is where the growth happens.

Coffee, Life and Plumbing

This morning I am sitting bundled up in a house cold enough to see my breath, by a wood burning stove my husband is using muffler tape to hold together and am listening to the team prepare our driveway to pour the concrete for our new garage. I am writing in my gratitude journal and my husband come in to tell me that our water main has been hit. I look out the window to see water bubbling up through ground.

Another aspect of this house incorrectly done. It is barely below ground and a plastic pipe is all that is bringing water into our home. Without this find, it would have been below our new slab and new garage and when it burst…which is inevitable with it not being copper piping and would have been leaking under the work we are having done.

So now we have trenching and digging and copper piping to buy to make it correct. I have no water to the house, so that will make today interesting but I still sit in gratitude.

I am still warm and safe even though there is chaos around me. I have clean, bottled water to drink. Fortunately, my husband made coffee this morning start my day with as I set my intentions for the week. There is always a silver lining, a new perspective to see, an opportunity to grow.

So it looks like this week, I will be learning plumbing and getting a workout digging. Good thing I have dry shampoo until I can wash my hair again.
